Nail’d PC Game 2011

Analysis: Nail’d PC Game 2011

Turbos, skids, mud and jumps bestial. Extreme speed in a pure state.
In recent days we are witnessing the launch of a number of degrees of speed: Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Gran Turismo 5, Joy Ride, F-1 2010 … The list is extensive, and more that will grow with nail’d arrival, a title that has appeared extreme speed without making much noise but has a remarkable quality.
The gamers in general speed are living a very sweet time because they do not stand out titles to market a quality more noticeable in general. In this fashion nail’d want to join, a title that is not wrapped by an expectation or just hype high, but has managed to surprise by the proposal, total arcade.

Extreme Speed
Arcade extreme speed is the words that best define this new work by Techland. And it invites us nail’d “simply” to jump on motorbikes (either MX or ATV) to move large natural settings as quickly as possible. And we emphasize the latter. Yes, because if anything highlights this “racer” is enjoying an incredible sense of speed, one of the fastest of all titles that have appeared this year in its category.

We are facing a speed arcade fun and exciting happens oblivious to the simulation to focus on the fun.
The vein arcade which boasts nail’d is felt from the first race, from the same tutorial. Far from offering us a realistic and thorough concept of the genre, this title invites us to take sides in a career filled with jumps of several meters in height and length, skids and accidents impossible spectacular, taking it all in pursuit of fun. And the truth is that getting it finished. And to make things easier for any user, the control system has been simplified to the maximum, so much so that with only three buttons (accelerator, brake and turbo) can dominate the bikes.

One of the strengths that has nail’d is, in our view, the scenarios that host each of the tests. Far from being based in urban or formal paths, developers have opted to take advantage of nature. Thus, we walk in nail’d locations ranging from the Grand Canyon to Yosemite, through the Andes Mountains and the Mediterranean.

Each of the 14 tracks (not counting that can be acquired by DLC) has a range of obstacles making careers more attractive by adding more “chicha” and bite to the tests. Ramps, hairpin turns, drops and continuous zig-zags are very common, so it is always necessary to be very focused … and more to the speed at which the bikes moving. Even so, and I anticipate that accidents are quite frequent in nail’d, to the extent that part of the game itself. But this is not something negative in our opinion, because the truth is that these are very showy, even spectacular in some cases. Also the gameplay does not suffer at all, since recurrences or respawns after the “punches” are produced quickly and we just waste time.

The sensation of speed is quite clear nail’d shocking. Few games can be compared with him in this regard.
Run to your taste
Clearly nail’d can not claim to be the exponent most comprehensive of its kind on the market: there are many titles that exceed in options, opportunities, benefits, longevity and number of cars and tracks. Yet the truth is that to be an arcade speed is well nourished nail’d both game modes and options. For starters, you can choose the look of our pilot, thanks to a very basic editor but it fulfills its mission. But more important is the choice workshop, which allows us to modify a number of aspects of our bikes. Choose the frame, expanding the capacity of our turbo, custom painting and choosing the wheels and the handlebars are some of the possibilities offered, factors that directly affect the performance of our bike or ATV.

Paths we walk in nail’d offer enough variety, deserts, canyons, forests, parks …
The technical level is quite remarkable nail’d holds. In the aforementioned impressive sense of speed and beauty of the paths, good modeling is attached to the bikes, and ATV riders and a considerable strength in the generation of funds and the rate of frames per second. This good level is supported by a paragraph sound even better, especially thanks to the sound track composed by sugarcane issues of groups like Slipknot, Rise Against, Queens of the Stone Age and Backyard Babies. This is a perfect fit for each test frenzy, like the overwhelming sound effects.

For all this, nail’d has left a good impression. Is a title well known exploit their strengths and engage the player, who is seduced by a proposal digestible and has been well executed.

Rating nail’d
This exciting racer Techland opts for fun, arcade and spectacular openly, leaving aside the realism and simulation. And the fact is that the formula is successful, because although not the most complete of its kind (nor intended), is left to play and ends up hooking. All those who enjoy games like ATV Reflex Pure or so will this title, especially with the exciting multiplayer options included.
